The upcoming season of "The Crown" will place Prince Charles and Princess Diana front and center, as the Season 4 trailer shows:

Variety reports that the new season, which premiers on November 15, will feature Gillian Anderson (of TV's "The X Files" and the current smash hit "Sex Education") as the polarizing Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, in addition to Josh O'Connor as the Prince and Emma Corrin as Lady Di.

The story carries on from the late 1970s, when Queen Elizabeth (portrayed by Olivia Colman) was in her 25th year as the sovereign leader of the U.K. As such, the story will focus on how the Royal Family were concerned with lines of succession and, as Variety states, "securing an 'appropriate' bride for Prince Charles." The result was Diana Spencer, and the depiction of a fairytale marriage that was anything but. Despite this, Princess Diana would become one of the most prominent figures internationally to emerge from recent British history.
