He's only had a couple of acting gigs so far, but heartthrob, NFL football star, and Taylor Swift bf Travis Kelce is headed for a major role in prolific out producer Ryan Murphy's TV project "Grotesquerie."

Kelce "has been cast opposite Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance and Lesley Manville in the upcoming series, which has just started production," Deadline reported, noting that the show will be a "follow-up to Kelce's acting debut as host of 'Saturday Night Live' in March 2023."

"He also made a cameo alongside Swift on the NBC late-night sketch comedy series this past fall."

"He also appeared in one episode of the Showtime series 'Moonbase 8,' starring Fred Armisen, Tim Heidecker and John C. Reilly," Variety said.

"Kelce confirmed the news in an Instagram Story featuring a video of himself and Nash-Betts," the entertainment outlet said.

Variety described the video, in which Nash-Betts is seen saying, "Guys, guess who I am working with in 'Grotesquerie'?" before Kelce appears, saying: "Stepping into new territory with Niecy."

As previously reported, "Grotesquerie" sees Nash-Betts return to the Ryan Murphy fold after having starred in last year's acclaimed series "Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story."

There are no details yet about the show's plot, but the show will premiere on FX in the autumn (just in time, whether by chance or in purpose, for the election). A teaser consisting only of a voiceover playing against a black background was posted to Instagram in February.

"I don't know when it started," Nash-Betts can be heard saying, her voice sounding slightly distorted, as if on a recording or over a phone line. "I can't put my finger on it, but it's different now. There's been a shift. It's like something's opening up in the world – a kind of hole leading to the center of nothingness."

The chilling audio clip indicates that the show will be a procedural of some sort.

"What I saw today... they sent in a shrink for everyone who worked this crime scene," the narration goes on to say, "It's not getting better... something's happening around us, and nobody sees but me."

"Kelce has worked in the unscripted TV space with his reality dating series 'Catching Kelce,' which ran for one season in 2016," Variety recalled. "He is set to host Prime Video's 'Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?' game show."

The writeup went on to note that, "Along with breaking into acting, Kelce made his debut as a film producer on the 2024 indie film 'My Dear Friend Zoe,' which premiered at SXSW."
