Bristol Will Be No. 2: Hubby-to-Be Has a Secret Ex-Wife

A week before their impending nuptials, news broke Friday that Dakota Meyer's planned trip down the aisle with Bristol Palin will be his second. According to Daily Mail, the Medal of Honor recipient was married once before. As with everything with this politically adjacent power couple, the news broke on social media.

A friend of Myer's ex-wife Cassandra Wain took to social media Friday to blast the former marine for trying to hide his previous marriage.

"What I'm not understanding is why this marriage to my best friend is something you are trying to hide," Wain's friend posted. "To read the bulls*** of people putting their two cents into this issue they know nothing about is hard to read.

"Cassie is a small town girl who is beautiful and intelligent and just wants the past in the past. Now she's suffering from other people's opinions of her based off your lies Dakota," the friend continued.

According to InTouch, Myer, 26, married Wain in 2008 when he was 19. The couple split up in 2010, a year before Myer received the Medal of Honor from President Barack Obama for saving 36 troops and killing eight Taliban militants - after being shot in both arms.

Palin, 24, announced her engagement to Myer via Instagram in March.

"Truly the luckiest girl in the world, cannot wait to marry this man," Palin wrote next to photo of herself kissing Meyer.

Palin has been twice engaged, both times to her son Tripp's father, Levi Johnson.

Palin first came to the public eye in 2008, as the 17-year-old unwed mother of conservative Christian half-term governor of Alaska and failed GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Since being thrust into the spotlight, the younger Palin has become the "Ambassador for Abstinence" and was paid a reported $262,500 by the Candie's Foundation to speak out against teen pregnancy.

"Abstinence is the only way you can effectively 100 percent prevent pregnancy. It's the safest choice and it will prevent teen pregnancy and a lot of heartache," Palin said on ABC's"Good Morning America" in 2009.

In April, ' target='_blank'>it was reported that Palin and Myer were living together in advance of the marriage. This news also broke on social media. In a Facebook post, a Daisy Duke clad Bristol stands in a field with Myer firing some sort of automatic rifle. The caption read:

"myself and @bsmp2 celebrating our first week living together in ky by shooting our @warsport #lvoa today!! #sundayshooting #america #shesthebest #kentucky #boltsup #lifecouldntbebetter @rangerup #neveroutgunned #rangerup"
