Cher is Coming to Fire Island Pines for Hillary Fundraiser

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

In 1981, Cher took a trip to the Pines for July 4th weekend. According to the Fire Island Pines Historical Preservation Society, in addition to making a quick visit to Cherry Grove, she went to Low Tea and spent time in the harbor on the yacht "Barbara".

Nearly 35 years later, Cher is coming back to the Pines. Only this time it's not to turn back time. On Saturday, August 20, the Academy and Grammy Award winner and mother of transgender icon Chaz, is coming to Fire Island for a very special benefit to help elect Hillary Clinton.

The event is set for early evening (time and location TBA) in Fire Island Pines .

Tickets levels are $250 (limited availability), $1,000 (includes photo with Cher), $2,500 (includes photo and host reception) and $5,000 for the golden package.

Cher's Fire Island Pines Hillary fundraiser is the latest in a number of star-driven LGBT-focused events for the former Secretary of State's presidential campaign. The day after Cher plays the Pines, she head up to Provincetown to share the stage with Mrs. Clinton for a special fundraiser at the Art House. In September, mother of all gay icons Barbra Streisand will be performing at a special LGBT-focused Hillary fundraiser at Cirpriani in New York City.
