Watch: Ryan Murphy Reveals 'AHS' Crossover Season

After Ryan Murphy kept a tight lid on the current season of "American Horror Story," subtitled "Roanoke," the show's co-creator is letting the secrets. twists and plans for future seasons of the anthology horror series fly.

At the recent Ryan Murphy and Friends panel at Entertainment Weekly's PopFest in Los Angeles Sunday, the showrunner revealed some interesting ideas for a future season of "AHS," saying, in the not too distant future, fans can expect a "crossover" between the show's first season "Murder House" and the third season "Coven."

When asked if the season would be a prequel, sequel or something totally different, Murphy suggested the latter, saying he already has ideas for the season.

"We do know what we're going to do," Murphy said. "It's not going to be next season, but we are going to do a season that's a crossover between 'Murder House' and 'Coven' together, which is very bizarre."

He added: "There will be characters from 'Murder House' and characters from 'Coven' together."

Due to planning and scheduling, Murphy made it clear the crossover would definitely not be for the next season of "AHS," which has been renewed for a seventh installment by FX.

"I've [already] started going to actors from both of the seasons, quietly, saying, 'I think in this window, if you could fit us in,'" the producer said. "So yeah, it's fun. It's weird."

Stars of "Murder House," which debuted in Oct. 2011, include Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott. Britton has never returned to "AHS" while McDermott made a small appearance on its second season "Asylum." "Coven" premiered in Oct. 2013.
