Watch: Controversial YouTuber Jake Paul Under Fire Again for Massive Calif. House Party

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

YouTube star Jake Paul is no stranger to controversy and he's coming under fire once again. The latest drama comes after he hosted a huge house party at his California mansion on Sunday, ignoring renewed COVID-19 restrictions from the state, Page Six reports.

Video footage of the event has since surfaced and was shared to social media as well as Fox 11 in Los Angeles. The clips show dozens of people, not wearing masks, partying at Paul's home in Calabasas.

"It's really just a party acting like COVID does not exist, it's acting that businesses aren't closed," Calabasas Mayor Alicia Weintraub told the news station. "They're having this large party, no social distancing, no masks, it's just a big huge disregard for everything that everybody is trying to do to get things back to functioning."

The mayor went on to say that her office received a number of complaints about the party.

"It wasn't just myself who was outraged, it was everyone who saw the video," she said.

Several people on Twitter also called out Paul, include openly gay YouTube star Tyler Oakley.

In May, Paul was charged with criminal trespassing and unlawful assembly after police said he filmed looting a mall in Scottsdale, Arizona, The Hill reported.

California is one of a handful of states experiencing a rise in COVID-19 cases. On Monday, Gov. Gavin Newsom reversed re-opening plans, ordering indoor businesses across the state to close, including restaurants, bars, wineries, movie theaters, zoos and museums.
