Is Rihanna Singlehandedly Reviving Distressed Denim?

Rihanna is apparently taking advantage of New York City's outdoor dining, regardless of the temperature. Fortunately, she had a green sport coat from Bottega Veneta's 2021 resort collection and a long fur (faux?) overcoat to keep warm. But it was Rihanna's distressed denim that had the paparazzi all abuzz, as captured by Harper's Bazaar.
Rihanna has been trend-setting both for more than 15 years. Her fashion house FENTY launched in 2019, along with a lingerie line (SAVAGE X) and several beauty lines. But distressed denim is never far away.
