Frayed or Fab? 'RuPaul's Drag Race' Fashion Recap, Episode 11

Matthew Wexler READ TIME: 2 MIN.

This week RuPaul tasked the remaining queens with showcasing their brand by writing and starring in a commercial for their favorite bubbly beverage where some were effervescent and others fell flat. The main runway theme – "Beast Couture" – was fur-bulous. Let's take a look at the top six's creative creatures.

Carson Kressley joked that Utica's look must be by Diane von "Fur"stenberg, and though the judges weren't wowed by the off-the-shoulder, black fur full-train gown and Morticia Addams wig, we thought it was devilishly good. Verdict: FAB

Kandy Muse's signature strut couldn't save her lime green and lavender alien creature, which might as well stay on whatever planet she came from. Verdict: Frayed

Tina Burner's conceptual patchwork doll offered a refreshing departure from her usual fire engine red retro looks. "This is some 'Silence of the Lambs' bullshit," she said of her oversized stitched onesie. Verdict: FAB

While Kandy Muse might be the beast you want to keep under the bed, Symone strutted with sexy confidence, sporting a big bootie foxtail, cropped denim shorts and gold chain. It takes a village to pull together a brand, and if you're wondering who's in Symone's (along with Gottmik, Todrick Hall and others), check out Marco Morante. Verdict: FAB

Wearing a toothy monster with spacey-eyed shoulder pads, Gottmik, once again, hit the runway with a boundary-pushing look that struck a delicate balance between couture and camp. Verdict: FAB

Olivia Lux's turquoise-tinged monster with lime green trim and horns impressed the judges but left us hungry for more. The Pierretta Viktori-designed garment offered plenty of inspiration for Olivia to create a character, but she seems to be stuck in pageant over progress. Verdict: FRAYED

Devilishly delicious in deep red, Rosé continues to step into the spotlight, owning the runway and refining her presence. This week's look, conceptualized with Stephanie's Child co-member Lagoona Bloo and designed and built by Casey Caldwell, scored high marks and with good reason. Rosé has her eye on the prize. Verdict: FAB
