2023 Rewind: Musician Steve Grand Shares Pride Thirst Trap
READ TIME: 7 MIN.
This piece is part of EDGE's 2023 Rewind series. We're reaching into our archives and sharing some of our favorite stories from the past year.
Steve Grand broke the mold of the country singer when he came out with "All American Boy," his first album, in 2015. Having self-funded the video and CD release, Grand created a place for himself in the music industry and hasn't looked back since.
"With over 18 million views on YouTube, a #3 and #10 album on The Billboard Independent Album charts, and one of the most successful music Kickstarter campaigns ever under his belt, Grand has not just broken the rules, but has changed the game in how to be a successful singer-songwriter in this era," reads his website.
The Chicago-based Grand took to Pride this past weekend with a heartfelt message and sexy thirst-trap on Twitter.
"I have so many fond many of Pride. But it can be quite chaotic too. Be patient with yourself & others. Look after each other. 🙏☺️❤️
"These events used to make me so anxious. I wanted to be everywhere all at once & always had FOMO about what fun I could be having.... over on that side of the street, or going into that bar, or over there with those people, or wearing something different...
"So many times I robbed myself of the present by putting myself under so much pressure to have "the best day / night / weekend/ pride ever!"
"In those moments, remind yourself you are exactly where you should be, with who you are there with. ☺️ Thinking otherwise immediately takes you out of the present. If you are debating switching something up, give yourself 5 seconds to decide, then don't dwell on it or question your decision after the 5 seconds is over ☺️🙏
"It's taken me 33 years to figure that out, & it's still a daily struggle, but I've come a long way with it 🙏
"Our struggles are all so unique, but hopefully this is helpful for at least one person out there.
"Be safe. Be proud. And have fun! ☺️❤️🙏🙌🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
"And yeah I'm reposting this pic because I actually love it 😅😜"
