Our "Mean Girls" wishes are finally coming true with an adaptation of the 2018 Broadway musical headed to theaters in 2024.

As reported by Deadline, the movie reportedly filmed in New Jersey earlier this year. Tina Fey wrote the film's screenplay after writing the 2004 original and the stage musical's book.

"The score features music by Jeff Richmond and lyrics by Nell Benjamin ("Legally Blonde")," Deadline reports. "Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez, Jr. co-direct the project, with choreography by Kyle Hanagami."

The cast for the film reportedly includes Broadway's Renée Rapp, reprising her stage role as Regina George; original "Mean Girls" cast member Ashley Park in an unspecified cameo role; Broadway alum and Tony nominee Jaquel Spivey (A Strange Loop) as Damien; Auli'i Cravalho of "Moana" and the "Little Mermaid Live," and a host of other names, including "Girls5Eva" star Busy Phillips as Mrs. George and "The Office's" Jenna Fischer as Mrs. Heron. Best of all, Fey is returning as Ms. Norbury, and "SNL" alum Tim Meadows is also back as Principal Duval.

The film's planned release date is Jan. 12, 2024, with a Barbie-level marketing push planned for the film.
