Timothée Chalamet Voted Most Stylish Man of the Year

The best-dressed accolades continue to pour in for the Oscar-nominated wunderkind, who was just voted GQ's Most Stylish Man of the Year by the magazine's readers.

The week-long poll, conducted via Instagram, was a slugfest between Timothée Chalamet and 15 of the year's most stylish tastemakers including Troye Sivan, Bad Bunny, David Beckham, Kendrick Lamar, Cillian Murphy, Charles Melton, Pedro Pascal, and – of course – Jacob Elordi.

The semifinals came down to Murphy, Beckham, Chalamet, and Elordi with the final matchup coming down to Beckham and Chalamet, who, according to GQ, pulled off a rather decisive victory.

While most might think of the red carpet "Wonka"-era Chalamet of late, it's his relaxed ("post-swag," as GQ puts it) everyday looks that helped make him one of fashion's 2023 it boys, from his US Open look with girlfriend Kylie Jenner wearing matching Cartier watches to being spotted shooting hoops at a New York City basketball court with Adam Sandler in Supreme cargo shorts.

There was also, of course, four GQ covers last month that featured Chalamet, their November cover boy. "Over the past six years," GQ wrote, "as Timothée Chalamet became famous and then very famous, he found himself measuring the distance between the real Timothée Chalamet and the perceptions of him. This year, he focused on protecting the piece of his humanity that fuels his work."

Off the red carpet, Chalamet has nailed the concept of quiet luxury, oozing confidence and wealth in ways that are subtle, relatable, and tasteful. He's also redefined what it means to dress like a "man," embracing a femininity and open-mindedness that has come to define many of the best-dressed men of this year, men like A$AP Rocky, Troye Sivan, Bad Bunny, and Jacob Elordi. In fact, embracing some level of femininity (or things that are thought of as typically "feminine") has become a hallmark of being a well-dressed man, from flower patterns and plenty of pinks and purples to bolder choices like wearing skirts, sporting nail polish, and carrying a purse, a trend Bad Bunny has been enjoying for a while, and one that Jacob Elordi really started embracing this year.

On the red carpet, however, Chalamet wows in a different kind of way, one that continues to ooze playful refinement and high style, albeit on a different level. As Us Weekly reported, it wasn't only Chalamet's unforgettable performances in his breakout films "Lady Bird" and "Call Me By Your Name" that helped skyrocket him to fame, but also his fashion sense, which helped him stand out on every red carpet he walked. It was during his press tour for "Call My By Your Name," in particular, where Chalamet "unveiled one game-changing ensemble after another" that helped propel him to this point, the most stylish year of his career so far.
