'Constant Gay Jokes' Divide 'Deadpool & Wolverine' Movie Fans

Marvel's big roll out of the highly-anticipated "Deadpool & Wolverine" movie is reportedly being overshadowed by the film's "constant gay jokes."

As reported by the Daily Mail, "Deadpool & Wolverine" hit theaters last Friday and the summer blockbuster has already raked in $211 million.

But the content of the film is dividing fans due to the amount of jokes about man-on-man action between stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.

Some online commentators slammed the amount of jokes about the superheroes' sexualities as "unfunny."

"POV: you're watching Deadpool & Wolverine and they make another unfunny gay joke," wrote one social media commentator.

Another added with a GIF, "Me when Deadpool makes the fifth joke in a row where the punchline is 'being gay.'"

Another pointed out, "It was a really interesting choice for Marvel to pack Deadpool & Wolverine with relentless and exhausting gay jokes."

Basically, it wasn't funny.

"The same joke told over and over eventually gets stale," wrote another social media commentator.

But despite the jokes, others at least didn't feel that the film was actually making fun of gay people.

"There's a lot of jokes sure, but they aren't like, making fun of gay people/the subject matter," another commentator added.

In many ways, fans should have expected a Deadpool/Wolverine love triangle long before the film hit theaters. In promotional materials and interviews, Deadpool and Wolverine seemed to hint that there is something going on between the two, but the superheroes apparently never seal the deal.

"I thought they were in fact funny because it never felt like they were making fun of Deadpool for being gay," said another social media commentator. "It just felt like that's how he is which is cool."
