Chappell Roan is 'Feeling Emo' Ahead of the Grammys

The singer, who has dazzled audiences live as well as on television, indicated that she had something special up her sleeve for the awards ceremony, posting, "I love the performance we're preparing for you all."
Roan, who identifies as queer, ended with a special shout out to her LGBTQ+ fans.
"And girl no matter what," Roan declared, "just know when I'm up on stage, all I'm really feeling in my heart is love to the queer community especially those in places where it is unsafe to be yourself. I see you".
The post isn't the first time Roan has made a point of acknowledging the queer community. When she won the VMA award for Best New Artist last September, she turned her acceptance speech into a powerhouse address thanking trans recording artists and offering hope to LGBTQ+ youth.
"I dedicate this to queer and trans people that fuel pop," Roan declared, "[and] to the gays who dedicate my songs to someone they love – or hate!"
Roan "is one of only 15 artists to be nominated for The Big Four – Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Record Of The Year, and Best New Artist – at the same ceremony," Uproxx noted, and although she's expressed ambivalence toward claiming a Grammy or four, there's no denying she is one of the most exciting new artists on the music scene – and Grammy night will have an extra charge thanks to her.
