Lil Nas X Joins Forces with Coach for New Capsule Collection. See the Collection Here

When Lil Nas X broke through the music industry – and the airwaves – back in 2019 with his infectious, Grammy-winning song "Old Town Road," it seemed clear that he was poised to be music's next big thing. But what was less evident at the time is just how influential he'd become in the world of fashion, too.
Sure, he turned heads shirtless in cowboy hats, but it was his full-on embrace of gender bending fashion – and his Cher-like commitment to red carpet looks – that really cemented his status as a fashion icon.
As British GQ pointed out recently, Lil Nas X has played by his own rules from the very beginning, wearing head-to-toe hot pink, Disney princess gowns, and Thom Browne skirt suits. Men's fashion in 2023 is infinitely more gender fluid than it was even four years ago, and Lil Nas X's contribution to that shouldn't be underestimated. "It shows just how far menswear's come," wrote GQ. "This stuff isn't a novelty. Loads of guys are in on skirts. And we can all hail their eternal supreme leader: Lil Nas X."
Now, as 2023 comes to a close, Lil Nas X is making fashion headlines again, this time because of his brand-new collaboration with Coach. Called "The Lil Nas X Drop," British GQ reports that the pieces in this capsule collection are mainline Coach pieces that Lil Nas selected himself especially for this project, and the pieces include bags, jackets, shoes, and a big shearling coat. GQ asked him about his favorite piece in the collection, to which he replied: "The bright, bright pink shearling Tabby. That's a statement right there. Feels good too."
"I've always had so much fun with fashion – it's become a big part of my life and a huge form of expression for me," he told GQ. "I feel like the cool thing... is that it helps you be whoever you want to be on any given day. It also plays a big part in helping create the world around my music, and that has continuously evolved throughout the different eras in my career so far. And it always will."
Lil Nas, who is also a global ambassador for the iconic American fashion brand, worked with Coach creative director Stuart Vevers on customizing the pieces, which Hypebeast reports includes items like bags featuring illustrations from his recent concert tour, patches depicting his cats on a varsity jacket, and other items like acid-washed shirts that "evoke rave culture."
"Our Winter collection is inspired by my belief that fashion is about exploring and celebrating all of who you are," said Vevers. "To create the collection, we twisted the Coach archives and were also inspired by Lil Nas X's connection to music and nightlife. We evolved heritage styles introduced on the runway last season by amplifying color, texture, and graphics to create pieces that celebrate our love for individuality and authentic self-expression that we share."
The collection will officially drop on December 26 and will be available to purchase at Coach.com.
